Request For Public Comment on Proposed Changes to the 

Housing Choice Voucher Program Annual PHA Plan

The Deep East Texas Council of Governments is soliciting public review and comment on the proposed changes to the Housing Choice Voucher Program Annual PHA Plan. DETCOG will receive written comments regarding the proposed changes during a 45-day public comment period to commence April 12, 2026, through May 28, 2026.

All written comments are to be mailed, or hand delivered, to the following address:

Copies of the proposed changes are available on the DETCOG Housing website at www.dethousing.org and are also available at DETCOG’s office located at 1405 Kurth Dr, Lufkin Texas 75904, between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.

The Resident Advisory Board discussed the proposed changes to the Annual PHA Plan on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Deep East Texas Council of Governments, 1405 Kurth Drive, Lufkin, TX 75904, and again on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Nehemiah Family Life Center, 640 Pollard St, Jasper, TX 75951.

The DETCOG Housing Advisory Committee will discuss the proposed changes on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nacogdoches County Expo & Civic Center, 3805 NW Stallings Dr, Nacogdoches, TX 75964.

The Board of Directors for the Deep East Texas Council of Governments will meet on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Nacogdoches County Exposition and Civic Center, 3805 NW Stallings Drive, Nacogdoches, Texas 75964, to consider adopting proposed changes to the Annual PHA Plan for the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
