For clients currently going through the recertification process, staff will mail recertification packets to you, please mail the completed packet and requested documents to our office: 1405 Kurth Drive, Lufkin TX 75904-1929 or email them to firstname.lastname@example.org. It is important to note that in order to be recertified, you MUST provide all requested documents. We are simply asking you to mail them or email them instead of bringing them in person, but you must still provide them.
For all other activities, staff will communicate with you when it is determined that appointments will resume or may request documents by mail or email as necessary.

Response to COVID-19
With COVID-19 reaching pandemic status, the DETCOG Regional Housing Authority's top priority is maintaining the safety and wellbeing of our clients, partners, staff and community.
We are following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to help minimize the spread of infection.
As a precautionary measure, in an effort to limit in-person contact as recommended, we are asking our tenants, landlords, community partners and the public to contact us by phone, email, or fax rather than visit our office.
At this time, all scheduled appointments are cancelled.

The Texas Supreme Court has issued an Order regarding evictions during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Texas Supreme Court’s March 19th order delays any residential evictions until after April 19, with limited exceptions in cases where a renter poses an imminent threat of physical harm to others, or engages in criminal activity.

The Housing Choice Voucher Program is administered by the Housing Authority to make housing assistance payments to private landlords for eligible families, senior citizens, disabled and handicapped persons. This program enables eligible persons to rent privately owned existing, decent, safe, and sanitary housing within the DETCOG Region as well as Hardin County. There are rent subsidies available for zero, one, two, three and four bedroom homes, apartments, mobile homes, duplexes or any kind of dwelling that meets the standards set by the program.
The DETCOG jurisdiction includes the following Texas counties: Angelina County, Hardin County, Houston County (Houston County does not include Houston, TX nor any part of Harris County), Jasper County, Newton County, Polk County, Sabine County, San Augustine County, San Jacinto County, Shelby County, Trinity County and Tyler County (Tyler County does not include Tyler, TX nor any part of Smith County).
Local preferences include families who live or work within the DETCOG jurisdiction, veterans/veterans families, victims of domestic violence, and disabled families.
Housing Choice Voucher Program
DETCOG Regional Housing Authority is moving away from postal mail and moving towards electronic mail. This change means that HCV clients, including landlords, tenants and applicants, will be receiving official communications from DETCOG to the email accounts the agency has on file.
